After wandering around a bit, you've come to the conclusion that you are most definitely lost. You don't want to admit it, but trying to backtrack in a Cyprus forest is proving to be difficult, even for you. You decide to take a rest and call it a night. Locating a cave, you decide to take a look around inside it and see if it's suitable to stay overnight in. Cautiously, you venture inside...
What you find inside the cave surprises you! The walls of the cave are beautifully decorated, the interior is clean, the floor swept. You gaze in awe at all the beauty surrounding you. Caught up in the moment, you didn't notice you weren't quite alone.
An energetic hound greets you at the entrance with a smile.
"I am Maxine... I do not recall ever seeing you before. Do you know where you are?" she said with a friendly look. Alarmed at the talking dog, you're not quite sure what to say. Maxine looks puzzled, and tries again.
"Hello there, do you need some help?" Still in shock, you are somewhat able to nod your head.
"Ahh yes, follow me!" she exclaims.
Maxine leads you down a long corridor of the cave. It is lit up with brilliant red flames and you can see the artwork that lines the walls much more visibly. There are many creatures that are unknown, as well as creatures that you have seen many a time.
The huge hound chats causally with you both walk along.
"You see... I'm not entirely a full blooded houndoom, my father was a mightyena and well, that's why I don't have quite the correct coloring or shape..." she talks on, while you are not quite sure what she's talking about. You finally manage to ask Maxine a question that's been on your mind since you arrived... "What is this place?"
Maxine stops at the end of the hallway and turns around.
"Well, you see, this is the gateway between the pokemon world, and the normal human world," she says, "and it looks as if you have wandered upon it. However, there are many communities that live right upon the gateway, and we call this place... the Dream Cave."
You look up and see a simply spectacular view. Still surrounded by cave wall, the cave opens up into a vast oval shape. The top of the cave is gone, and is open up to the sun. Much green grass and plants grow inside the massive opening and a village is inside. A lake is in the middle and sparkles off the light from the bright sun.
"Dream Cave is located in Johto, though you can get to any region from Dream Cave." says Maxine. She hands you a map of the cave. "I wish you on the best of luck from here, and if you need anything, find me at my house!" Maxine then trots away with a smile on her mouth.
